College Application Workshops

Writing, Editing and Revising the Personal Statement 

During this 45-minute session, students will work with a college counselor to write, edit and revise their personal statement.

During this 45-minute session, students will work with a college counselor to write, edit and revise their supplemental essays.

Class Format: Virtual class, small group (max. six students)

Duration: 45 min

Time: 8:30 pm – 9:15 pm

Full Application Review Session

During this private, virtual session, students will meet with experienced college counselors to review each component of their application profile. Counselors will offer advice and feedback as they read over each part of the student’s application (form filling sections, the resume, personal statement and supplemental essays). 

This session is designed for students who have completed final drafts of their resume, personal statement, supplemental essays and filled out all application questions. It is meant for those students who are seeking a set of experienced eyes to review their work prior to final review and submission.

**Sessions are offered one to two weeks prior to application submission deadlines. Limited spots available. Students must forward documents and application login info in advance of the scheduled meeting for best use of student and counselor’s time.

In-Person College Application Bootcamps

During this three-hour “bootcamp” style session, students will be guided through each component of the application process. College counselors will guide students through each part of the application, set them up with specific tasks, and provide support at each stage of the process. Students will let us know what areas they need to work on and breakout groups will be created to review each student’s progress and provide personalized feedback.

Students should expect to work on the following:

  • Common app and other application types
  • College essay/personal statement (brainstorming topics, writing drafts, and editing)
  • Strategizing ways to approach supplemental essays
  • Creating a working resumé or activities list
