College Process Workshops

Online College Work Session

During this 45-minute small group session, college counselors will guide students through:

  • Common App and other application types (ex: Coalition App, University of California, ApplyTexas and other school specific applications)
  • College Essay/Personal Statement and Supplemental Essays (brainstorming topic ideas, writing drafts, and editing)
  • Creating a working resumé or activities list

 

Class Size: Six students maximum

Duration: 45 minutes

Online College Application Bootcamp

During this three-hour “bootcamp” style session, college counselors will guide students through each part of the application, set them up with specific tasks, and provide support at each stage of the process. Students will identify their needs and breakout rooms will be utilized to guide each student and provide personalized feedback and direction.


Class Size: 4-6 students per counselor

Duration: 3 hours

In-Person College Application Bootcamp

Students interested in live college counseling workshops will be divided into small groups so they can focus on their specific needs (essay, common app/resume, or supplements). Counselors will meet students where they are and guide them through their tasks, providing advice and direction.

 

Class Size: 12-18 students max ( 4-6 students per counselor)

Duration: 3 hours | 6 hours (full-day)

Get it Done! Workshop

Students should be close to completion of their application process to enroll and will be assigned to a small group based on their three priorities. Students should plan to work hard and be close to submission of their applications by the end of the full day (6 hours) of workshops.

Areas of focus: College Essay/ Personal Statement

  • Supplemental Essays (Why “X” University essay, Activities essay etc.)
  • Resume/Activities List
  • COVID-19 Essay
  • Financial Aid/ Scholarship Writing
  • General Common Application Questions – change of school essay, disciplinary essay
  • List Balancing

Duration: 3 hours in the morning and/or 3 hours in the afternoon
